How can I make an ABHA card?
Follow the steps given below:
- Go to the website of Ayushman Digital Health Mission.
- Click on the option of Create Your ABHA Number on the home page.
- Two options will appear to generate the ABHA number. Select the one you are comfortable with.
- Click on aadhar number or driving license and submit it by entering its number on the next page.
- Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number.
- You will be directed to the application form
After filling in the requested information asked in the application, submit it.
- Upload your photo
- Now click on submit
- Your ABHA card will be generated.
- Download it and take a printout.
Will this card work only in government hospitals?
This card will be useful in both government and private hospitals. Not only that, it can also be used in any doctor’s private clinic.
Can doctors or health professionals see the medical data of a patient without his consent?
No. They will need your consent to see your medical data. For this, they will need an ABHA card or an OTP, which can be viewed only with the consent of the card-holder.
How can your medical history be read from the ABHA card?
With the ABHA card, you will get a 14-digit ID number. It will have a QR code. Your medical information can be read by scanning it.

Are ABHA and Ayushman cards the same?
They are not. The Ayushman Card is for health insurance. It is only for poor people.
